Sunrise is the story of comings and goings between countryside and city, and of a paradoxical honeymoon. It is also an inner journey for the two protagonists and the spectator: a "setting in motion" of the soul – that is, emotion – expressed by the "writing of motion", – that is, cinematography.
So, unsurprisingly, in this film about travelling(s), all types of tracking shots are used.
