Man with the Movie Camera was made by Dziga Vertov in 1929 in the Soviet Union. This was a period of fertile creative activity and intense questioning about the cinematographic art, its specificities and its future. In fact, right from the opening credits, the film is presented as a cinematographic experiment: as both a film and the apparatus that makes the film possible.
